Doctors of Northcote - GP, Medical Clinic in Northcote

One of the best medical centres I've been to. It was a great experience from the initial phone call to the actual appointment itself. Reception was very friendly and professional. Facilities were modern and clean. I was seen promptly as per schedule which is quite rare (although it also helped that it was a Sunday). Dr Nina Mendoza was very thorough and without missing a beat, she had a slew of options to look into. It's been challenging finding a GP in Melbourne (after moving from Sydney), but I would definitely come back here.

I've been attending Doctors of Northcote for about eight years now. Due to a complex medical history at both family and personal level I've always needed to find a practitioner and practice who works with me. The reception staff have always been professional and friendly towards both myself and my husband. Willing to communicate quickly with my GP and call me asap if needed. I regularly see Dr Chua (and before him it was Dr Wong) and if he's unavailable I've always been happy to see someone else as they take the time necessary to look at both my history and current medications, while also listening to why I'm there/doing a phone consult on the day. My husband has a natural distrust of doctors due to previous history and since his first appointment here has felt that trust restored. For those who are on a pension, it's up to you to discuss with the GP on your first visit whether they're willing to apply bulk billing for you.

I’ve seen many of the doctors here, both for myself and my child. They are always excellent. Very thorough, great listeners and all know their stuff. I guess the only reason for not giving them 5 stars is they don’t bulk bill without a concession card (which most doctors around here don’t do- I can imagine their expenses would be pretty substantial. The government really needs to get on board with that issue, I doubt it’s the Doctor’s choice). And that my favourite doctors are often booked out a month or so in advance, but you can get lucky with cancellations. But all the doctors are fabulous so it doesn’t matter.
